Grays Harbor County Fair – Picture the Fun!
The Grays Harbor County Fair has something for the kid in all of us. “Picture the Fun” you can have by participating in one or more of the many contests and activities, August 6-10, 2003.
Creative Kids Contests include My Family Photos, Bird Houses, Computer Greeting Cards, Favorite Cookies, and Sewing. The contest is open to kids age 8 – 16. There are a variety of prizes including cash, merchandise and ribbons. All entries are to be submitted on Sunday, August 3, between10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Bring your Berry Baking Contest entry to the Fair on Wednesday, August 6, for the 13th annual contest. The entry will admit you free to the fair beginning at 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The grand prize is a gift basket from Fisher Fair Scones, Inc. Pick up an Exhibitor’s Book for full details.
Can you decorate a cake with just a toothpick, spoon and frosting? See how creative you can be during the Everybody’s Supermarket Cake Decorating Contest. There is a category for those under 40 years of age and a category for those 40 years and up. The contest is Thursday, August 8, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Pavilion Annex.
For those kids who love hot dogs join in the fun at the Everybody’s Supermarket Hot Dog Eating Contest. The contest is Thursday, August 8, 2 p.m. on the Jest in Time Stage.
A new contest brought to you by Elma Variety Store is the Gift Wrapping contest on Saturday, August 9, 2:00 p.m. Contestants will be given gift wrapping supplies and have an allotted amount of time to create their masterpieces. The fun will take place on the Montesano Farm & Home Stage.
Pick your lucky winner in the Horse and Exhibitor Pie Eating contest on Saturday, August 9, in the Indoor Arena. The past champion pie-eating horse will take on all contenders.
The Silver (Plus) Wedding Game is for couples that have celebrated 25 Plus years together. See how much they really know about each other on Saturday, August 10 at 3:00 p.m. on the Montesano Farm and Home Stage. Elma Pharmacy sponsors the contest and supplies the Grand prize.
All five days of the fair, Whitney’s, Inc. is hosting kids games and activities. Just listen for the announcements to participate in Hoop Shoot, Hula Hoop, Montesano Math, Frisbee Toss and more. There will be prizes for the lucky winners!
