All entries are due to the Home Arts Building on Sunday, before the Fair, 10 am to 6 pm.

All entries and awards will be released on Sunday, closing day of the Fair, between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

1. All entries is this department must be entirely the work of the exhibitor.
2. Hobbies that have been shown in previous years cannot be exhibited in succeeding years unless the exhibit is entirely new.
3. Collections mounted on cardboard for hanging should be covered with plastic, for their protection. Collections of rocks and/or shells must be in cases or mounted so they are stationary. Matches must be removed from match book collections. Information on the collection that would assist in making a better display is encouraged.
4. Dolls should be labeled, and must be on stands or able to stand firmly by itself.
5. Each entry will be judged on it’s merits as a hobby and points that will be considered in judging include: execution, originality, study, possibilities of development, neatness, and general appeal.
6. Exhibits requiring a large amount of space must make a space reservation with the Fair Manager or the Department Superintendent at least two weeks prior to the fair to allow for adequate space.
7. Persons taking entries will check, whenever possible, to determine if the entry is finished and if the exhibit is of fair quality, clean, and not offensive.
8. An exhibitor may enter up to a maximum of two items in each class.


CREATIVE KIDS EXHIBIT
BIRD HOUSES
Sponsored by Harbor Action of Hoquiam, WA.

1. This contest is open to children, ages 8 to 16.
2. The child should build a bird house suitable for a species native to Grays Harbor County, e.g. chickadees, wrens, swallows, bluebirds, robins, etc.
3. The Grays Harbor County Fair’s general rules and contest policies will apply.
4. Judging will take place prior to the fair and will be closed to the public.
5. Entries must be brought to the Arts Building at fairgrounds on Sunday, August 3rd between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

PRIZES:
All entries will receive either a blue, red, or white ribbon. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive rosettes and cash awards, sponsored by Harbor Action.

Class 1 – Bird House, ages 8 to 11
Class 2 – Bird House, ages 12 to 16
Some things judges consider for bird houses:
Dimensions suitable for species: diameter of hole, floor size, depth of box, height of hole above bottom

Creativity

CREATIVE KIDS EXHIBIT
COMPUTER GREETING CARDS

1. This contest is open to children, ages 8 to 16.
2. The child should create a greeting card within their computer program.
3. Please indicate on the back of your entry the name of your program (e.g.Print Shop, Publisher, etc.)
4. All entries must be printed on card quality paper.

6. Judging will take place prior to the fair and will be closed to the public.
