All entries are due to the Pavilion Annex on Sunday, before the Fair, from 10 am to 7 pm.

All entries and awards will be released on Sunday, closing day of the Fair, between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

1. All entries in this department must have been produced by the exhibitor and completed after last year’s fair.
2. An individual may enter two items in each class.
3. All items must be clean. Soiled items will not be accepted. The Department Superintendent will have the right to reject such items.

FIBER ARTS
Articles for wear, samples of hand weaving, etc. will be accepted for these classes. Please label each article carefully with method of weaving, name of article, and fiber used. This category can include items made on inkle, harness, card loom, etc.

CATEGORY II
MACHINE ARTS
Machine arts includes any item made by machine and includes stitchery on a garment. Two items may be entered in each class. The two must be different items (i.e. stitchery on a shirt and stitchery on pants).


SPECIAL AWARD

The Machine Embroiderers of Oregon and Washington will award a certificate and special ribbon to the Most Outstanding Exhibit in the machine arts sections.

CATEGORY III
NEEDLE ARTS BY HAND
Needle arts includes knitting, crocheting, needlepoint (in all of it’s various forms), embroidery, tatting, applique’, braiding, latch hook, and smocking.

Some things judges consider for stitchery:
Consistent direction of stitches
Thread compatability to fabric
Proper tension
Splitting threads
Hoop outlines and/or soiled items
On grain framing

SPECIAL AWARDS
A $5 McDonald’s gift certificate will be awarded to the outstanding needle arts exhibit in the Youth Division.

Some things judges consider for crochet and knitting:
Even stitches
Even tension
Blocking
Even seams
Cleanliness
Ends
Even outside edges
