BEEF (OPEN CLASS)

Entries due July 15

Animals in Barn by 8:00 p.m. Tuesday

Show Times: Thursday, August 7 at 2 pm

1. A stall fee of $5.00 per animal will be charged on all entries in this department. Fees must accompany entry forms. Address entries to: Grays Harbor County Fair, PO Box 1229, Elma WA 98541.
2. Entries will not be accepted after July 15. All substitutions must be made by that date.
3. Entry form must include name of animal, breed, age, and classes in which they are entered.
4. All animals must in the barn until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, prior to opening day. Animals must remain in place until Sunday at 7:00 p.m., subject to special permission by the Fair Manager and the Department Superintendent.
5. Because of limited barn space, those entries received first will receive the first available barn space. The fair reserves the right to limit the number of animals per exhibitor.
6. Cattle entered in this department must be accompanied by registration papers.
7. 4-H and FFA exhibitors registered in Grays Harbor County clubs/chapters will be allowed to enter their purebred animals in open classes, and will be entitled to premium moneys. Out of County exhibitors must declare, by entry date, and show in either 4-H, FFA, or Open Class. There will be no cross exhibiting for out of county exhibitors. Appropriate stall fees must be paid by all exhibitors in open classes. All 4-H and FFA Exhibitors must participate in fitting and showing.
8. No exhibitor may receive more than two premium payments in any one class.
9. Exhibitors are required to perform herdsmanship duties. Exhibitors will be responsible for the entire care of their animals.
10. All animals must be kept unblanketed from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. each day of the fair, except on the show day when animals may be blanketed until showing is completed.
11. All animals on display at the Grays Harbor County Fair must be entered into competition, except with special permission of the Fair Manager and Department Superintendent.
12. In order to make the show run smoothly, classes will not be held an unreasonable length of time for late entries. The judge may exclude these animals from the judging ring.
13. Feed and supplies may be delivered to the barn before 9:00 a.m. and after 10:00 p.m. There will be no moving vehicles on the fairgrounds at any other times.
14. All ribbons and awards won must be put on display over the animal.

16. Each bull over nine months of age must have a ring in his nose.

WASHINGTON STATE LIMOUSIN ASSOCIATION
These awards are available to Youth Division entries at designated shows. Fifty dollars will be awarded to a Limousin-influenced on-hoof Grand Champion Steer and/or carcass Grand Champion Steer of Youth Disvions. The steer must be of 50% or greater Limousin breeding and exhibit Limousin characteristics. The exhibitor will be responsible for contacting Dori Shobert prior to the show if they have an eligible entry. Dori Shobert, P.O. Box 1220, Port Ochard, WA 98366. Phone (360)871-5275. If Dori is not contacted, the award will not be made.
