“MY FAMILY” PHOTOS

1.       This contest is open to children, ages 8 to 16.

2.       Photographs may be black and white or colored, may be self or commercially processed and must be at least 5 x 7 inches and not larger than 8 x 10 inches.

3.       All photos must be mounted on matte board.  No frames will be allowed.

4.       Picture must have been taken in the past year.

5.       The type of camera used must be listed on the entry tag.

6.       The Grays Harbor County Fair’s general rules and contest policies will apply.

7.       Judging will take place prior to the fair and will be closed to the public.

8.       Entries must be brought to the Pavilion Annex at the fairgrounds on Sunday, August 3, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

PRIZES:

All entries will receive either a blue, red, or white ribbon.  The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive rosettes and merchandise awards.

BIRD HOUSES

1.       This contest is open to children, ages 8 to 16.

2.       The child should build a bird house suitable for a species native to Grays Harbor County, e.g., chickadees, wrens, swallows, bluebirds, robins, etc.

3.       The Grays Harbor County Fair’s general rules and contest policies will apply.

4.       Judging will take place prior to the fair and will be closed to the public.

5.       Entries must be brought to the Arts Building at the fairgrounds on Sunday, August 3, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. 

PRIZES:

All entries will receive either a blue, red, or white ribbon.  The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive rosettes and cash awards.

COMPUTER GREETING CARDS

1.       This contest is open to children, ages 8-16.

2.       The child should create an image within their computer program. 

3.       Please indicate on the back of your entry the name of your program (e.g. Print Shop, Publisher, Paint, etc.)

4.       All entries must be printed on card quality paper.

5.       The Grays Harbor County Fair’s general rules and contest policies will apply.

6.       Judging will take place prior to the fair and will be closed to the public.

1.       This contest is open to children, ages 8 to 16.

2.       Any form of baked cookie qualifies.

3.       Bring 4 cookies on a disposable plate.

4.       All cookies must be accompanied by the recipe, neatly printed on a 8 ½ x 11 sheet of paper.  All preparation steps, size of pan, temperature, and baking times must be specified.

5.       The Grays Harbor County Fair’s general rules and contest policies will apply.

6.       Judging will take place prior to the fair and will be closed to the public.

2.       The child should sew an apron, pillow, placemat, or potholder, or other item of similar size out of patriotic material.

3.       Items must be sewn and may include other embellishments.
